Make recordings!

Dutch Wind Band,

In addition to the first orders last month, we have received very positive reactions about our new web-shop. A number of words that came up in the responses are: well-arranged, neat, easy, simple, clear and fast.

However, there are also points for improvement: many people indicate that they would like to hear a sound fragment before they purchase a new piece of music for their concert band, fanfare band, brass band or student orchestra.

Since we believe that midi files do not give a representative picture of the compositions, we will make sound recordings with a real orchestra. We have created the Dutch Wind Bandfor this. This ad-hoc project concert band, which consists of 47 professionals and advanced amateur musicians, will meet coming Saturday, February 22, to record 7 compositions for concert band and if there is time, also 2 compositions for student orchestra.

Very exciting and fun project! Exciting because it has been a huge job to get such an orchestra together. Fun because of course it’s fantastic to have all those great musicians together, to be able to hear the beautiful sounds and to be able to work with an insanely good, enthusiastic and motivated concert band.

The recorded music pieces will be linked to our web-shop via our own YouTube channel. The sheet music will be shown in synchronization with the sound recordings. It couldn’t be clearer!

The pieces we are going to record are:

  • Son of the Sun (concert piece)
  • Apollo (march)
  • Donec Iterum Conveniant (choral)
  • Il est ne le divin enfant (christmas)
  • Caecilia (march)
  • Intrada Festivo (opening piece)
  • Spiritus Vita (concert piece)
  • Paper hat of entertainment (student orchestra)
  • Heetboven (student orchestra)

In short: Keep an eye on our YouTube channel! As soon as we have added something there we will of course inform you via the known way’s.

With musical greetings,
Dutch Wind Music
