Doorwerth Castle is a medieval castle where you can still experience how people used to live on this estate. This castle is located in the village of Doorwerth on the edge of the Veluwe in the Netherlands. As a resident of Doorwerth, and the walks to the castle were an inspiration for the composer to dedicate this march to this beautiful castle.
