Thomas Geerts
About the Composer
As a young trumpet player, Thomas already wrote pieces for the ensembles and orchestras he played with. After a bachelor's and master's in trumpet classical and a bachelor's in HaFa conducting at the conservatories of Amsterdam and Rotterdam, Thomas regularly writes music for new music theater productions, including a number for the Waterlandse Harmonie from Ransdorp and for theater group "Theatre d'Art" from Perpignan. In addition to conducting a number of wind orchestras, Thomas plays with the Amsterdam Brass Quintet and the band Zorita
"Every time when writing a new piece or arrangement, the challenge is to create something that excites, enthuses and takes you along. If you get that back from the audience and the musicians, then my mission as a composer or arranger has been accomplished."
